RWS Model 50 T01 “Military Edition” – .177 Cal – West Germany (1983)
Offered here is a 1983 production RWS Model 50 T01, marked Made in West Germany and chambered in .177 caliber.
This rifle was manufactured by Diana in Rastatt, Germany, and imported into the U.S. under the RWS name. During this period, RWS-branded rifles were mechanically identical to their Diana counterparts, built on the same production line with the same internal components. Distribution in Europe was often handled under the Original name, tying these rifles directly to Germany’s golden era of spring-piston airgun manufacturing.
Finish & Configuration
This example features the distinctive matte grey Parkerized-style finish on the metalwork, giving it a subdued, military appearance and excellent durability. The parkerizing contributes to the non-reflective, utilitarian look that sets this rifle apart from standard gloss-blued examples.
The stock appears to be an original Model 50 stock; however, it has been refinished in a unique, one-off matte grey scheme with red accent striping. We cannot confirm whether this was a limited factory treatment or a high-quality custom refinish done later. The work presents well and complements the Parkerized metal finish, but buyers should consider it a custom or non-standard finish unless further provenance is established.
